Four artists, united by the repeated use of the geometry of the circle on an abstract space, in a close dialogue that has taken place among orthogonal signs, perpetual volumes and modular portions in relief, express their creativity in a free choice of colors and different formal solutions.
The exhibition will open with the new series "Stolen Rainbow" of Massimo Kaufmann, in which the drops of watercolors, normally used by children, become formal and decorative elements, apparently random; the idea of a "Stolen Rainbow" alludes to the paradox of the freedom of art as an evocation of a lost childhood. Gabriele Picco will present the works Moka Painting and Brillo Painting, realized during his stay in New York using coffee and steel wool pads. They show his intense experimentation with thr everyday material. The artist will also install his new sculpture Time is running elsewhere, ironic reflection on the fragility of existence. Additionally, on the floor of the gallery the public will admire the playful lego bricks of Matteo Negri, that from iridescent shades go to opaque-polished combinations, evoking ancient feelings, almost modern, bulding a new imaginary world. On the contrary, the monochrome Surfaces proposed by Roberto Pietrosanti appear wavy, broken and discontinuous, marked by furrows or lines that touch the bottom, almost wanting to retrace patterns of ancient tracks: sheets animated by geometric shapes, generated through a delicate play of lights and shadows that investigates the spatiality, opening up to the third dimension.
The initiative will bring together works created by the students of the former fifth grade Padre Assarotti and of their friends, among them the artists kids, that will be exposed in a space dedicated to them. The proceeds from the sale of the childrens works, that will be during the 19th of December evening, starting from 18.30, will be donated to UNICEF. For this event the artists, assisted by Teacher Maria Galasso and the chairman of the provincial committee UNICEF Genoa, Dr. Franco Cirio, will also organize a permanent workshop (until December 27, 2014) for the UNICEF project "the city friend of children", in which children and adolescents of Genoa will participate.
