Can the subject's disappearance create an image? Can the loss of an emotion or an object and the consequent confusion make the landscape free, more than a simple background? These are some of the questions faced by "All That's Missing Is You", solo exhibition by the artist Mauro Vignando (Pordenone, 1969) at the ABC-ARTE gallery, Genoa.
This unpublished series of works on canvas block and freeze a gesture: black monochromes show clues of the artist's touch. Vignando deliberately removed with his shoulder part of the pictorial layer, leaving traces of his actions and, in exchange, carrying away with himself a little bit of the painting.
The show will include the new series of works on double-postcards. The weak and static figures are originally the same, then they become, through the artist's treatment, narrative and dynamic, bizarre and paradoxical.
On more, there will be exhibited a riedition on large scale of a wooden crucifix, of wich, after been cutted and reassembled, remains to us only a residual of what it was.
The exhibition will be held at the ABC-ARTE gallery between July 2nd and September 25th 2015.
